All,

I've loaded FreeDV v1.9.1 on a Windows 10 laptop but on the Easy Setup page, the pull-down in "Radio Device" is blank.  I went to the Advanced settings window and tried selecting both the internal (Realtek) sound card and a USB PnP device but no luck.  I've noticed on the Advanced page that the Microsoft Sound Mapper is also listed and I'm wondering if this may part of the problem.  BTW: FreeDV will recognize my USB Signalink when I plug it in but I'm trying to run this laptop with a simple USB PnP device.

Any advice is appreciated!

Hi Joe,

Can you send screenshots of what it shows in the Tools->Audio Config window? (This is the same as the advanced settings in Easy Setup.) I'm working on fixing another possibly related bug and I'd like to make sure that fix resolves your issue as well.

Thanks,

Hi Mooneer,

Screengrab of the Audio Config window is attached.  I selected the PnP device in this particular case.  Please let me know if you need anything else!

I appreciate your help!

Hi Joe (and anyone else who wants to give this a try),

I have a build that I think will resolve the Easy Setup issue you're seeing over at https://www.dropbox.com/s/iz97ethkr7y0wep/FreeDV-1.9.2-devel-2023-09-05-94d125a-windows-x86_64.exe?dl=0. This does touch the backend audio stuff, so there's a chance you may need to reconfigure your audio settings if you already have some set up (though I made an attempt to ensure that wasn't necessary as much as possible). Feel free to give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Hi Mooneer,

I loaded the new build and I am now able to see all my sound card devices in Easy Setup!  I have not heard any conversions with the software yet but I will try this evening when there is more activity.

I appreciate the assist!!!

Thanks and 73,

Joe
