Thank you for your continued support.
This is JH0PCF Kanda.
Thanks to you, the number of amateur radio stations operating FreeDV in Japan is increasing, as you can see by looking at FreeDVReporter. Approximately 20 stations now conduct roll call daily.
I am writing to you after receiving a report of a malfunction from one of these stations.
When operating on the same frequency with FreeDV Reporter displayed on the same screen, there are PTT delays and the station does not switch smoothly to receive. Hiding FreeDVReporter allows for a smooth switch.
When operating on the same frequency with a group of about 10 stations,
it appears that the CPU resources required are high due to processing such as SNR and other processes.
We have received reports that this phenomenon is particularly noticeable on low-spec CPUs when PTT switching is not smooth.
Even if you cannot solve this issue immediately, we would appreciate it if you could address it as a future issue.
For reference, the first image is a screenshot of the resource status.
The area with the most resources on the left is displayed on the same screen in FreeDVReporter.
The area with fewer resources on the right is hidden.
The next image shows the operational status. At this time, 18 stations are operating on the same frequency. Thank you for your cooperation.
