I have a minor change suggestion (for the next major change or update)

It's a little cumbersome to have enter frequencies with a decimal point,  so how about making manual frequency entry just "digits" instead of requiring a decimal point.  

Since most people will likely enter "whole kHz channels"  ........instead of 7.1970,  how about 7197  (or 7197.5 if desired)  or 14236 etc..... 

I suppose to satisfy  people who want to "enter" it in MHz, you could make it an options selection  ("Enter Freq in MHz" or kHz  Y/N" etc) or make it enter freq in kHz for 30MHz and below and MHz for 50MHz and above etc..... but I think the vast majority will want to enter 14236 instead of 14.236

Just a suggestion!

There is a term that falls out of the word "assume". It is the reason one should never assume "everybody does XXX so YYY". Now, a way around this, for keyboard warriors, would be to allow an g, m, k, and h to function as append 9, 6, 3, 0 to the numbers previously entered. But with a numeric keypad this could be a problem. If a decimal point has been entered the g, m, k. h, or enter key do the "obvious" with the proviso there will always be a bozo who demands yet another exception because he's playing with Tera Hertz today.

That would of course make us all "Bozos" I guess..........Hence the requirement for customizable operating systems and software.  GNU Linux is a great example of this where  the MAC OS and maybe "Winblows" and certainly iOS are more "We know whats better for the stupid BOZO user" and to their credit, they have gotten better as of late.....

I would say pretty often and in any case where either interference, band conditions or frequency congestion requires it. 

Now I can easily change the frequency by simply "turning the dial" on my ICOM IC-705.  Problem solved....UNLESS  I'm out in the shop using the excellent LAN/wireless capability of the IC-705 along with the WFView and a virtual audio port.

Then I have to change it via the software.

Although, the IC-705 is the only(?) MF/HF/VHF/UHF transceiver that currently has wireless LAN capability, I would expect more to come in the future.   I would also think this alone would drive making features mentioned and others a "good" thing.

Hi all,

Keep in mind that MHz entry seems to be the standard in other ham radio applications (for example, WSJT-X) as well as on the front panels of most modern radios themselves. Granted, WSJT-X does also have a drop-down list of bands that will automatically change your radio's frequency over to the correct one for that band (i.e. 14.074 MHz if you choose 20 meters).

In any case, I made a note to come back to it at some point and evaluate the changes required to at least make this an option.
