Has anyone been able to get FreeDV to work with a Buxcomm Rascal GLX on a VHF/UHF rig?
These can be found at http://www.packetradio.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=2&sort=20a&page=1
They support all digital modes. FreeDV works perfectly on my Flex 3K using VACs and VSPs with a USB sound card
for the mic headset.

I've used several of these over the years on PCs and laptops to various V/U rigs for Echolink with no problem.
However, no go with FreeDV. I tried it on several V/U rigs and all combinations of TX & RX Audio Config settings
and the best I can do is get analog audio from the mic to an HT when I hit PTT. No audio comes back when I key
the HT. I tried interface cables to the rigs mic & speakers, data ports and pkt ports. If you have been able to get
a Rascal to work send me some details.

Is my only other option to get a Signalink or RigBlaster?

Here's some more details with the Buxcomm Rascal. I use two USB sound cards. One card goes to and from
the Buxcomm Rascal to the rig and the other card is used for the mic headset. These two cards are configured
correctly in Audio Config for Receive (From Radio To Speaker/Headphones) and Transmit (From Mic To Radio).

For some reason, it seems these two sound cards aren't being joined or linked within FreeDV. The two cards
have differrent chip sets so one conclusion I have is they aren't compatible. One card is C-Media CM108 (to the
Rascal) and the other is generic USB audio (to the mic headset). I'm reluctant to purchase a SignaLink, with
it's own built in sound card, and run into the same problem where it won't join or link with the USB audio sound
card within FreeDV. Finally, the OS on my PC is Win XP Pro 32 bit.

Erm, are you trying to arrange it one audio card for the transceiver
and one for the microphone/headset or are you trying to feed through
audio in from RX to headset out and audio in from mic to TX out? The
former arrangement may be what you have to do despite there being some
sound arithmetic reasons for doing it the second way.

Joanne,

I'm using one audio card for the transceiver and one for the microphone/headset.
See my second post for more details.
