Just a suggestion!

In the FreeDV reporter (integral) window  (not the browser based Reporter)  We have "filtering" for band and frequency which is nice if there's a LOT of people on a particular band.

How about filtering for distance?

On certain frequencies, there might be 20 or more stations worldwide displayed,  but some are more than 3000miles away (with no chance of being able to hear or work  them at all depending on the band etc)

if there was an additional selection to "filter" distance,    I.E.  "Display only stations with a distance of XXXX miles or less" etc,  then those stations too far away to work wouldn't be displayed.

What say you all?

Well,   I guess I did....(miss it that is!) !

It's pretty clear that a distance filtering scheme would be advantageous and probably the most practical since depending on the time of day, one might want to only include in those stations in the general area but not see those too far away to be in the group...

The reporter is a powerful and effective tool for groups, nets and round-tables  etc.

I hope a simple solution is at hand.
