Mic audio doesn't indicate

FreeDV 2.0.2 on Mac silicon with Sequoia 15.6.1, mic audio coming in from processor on USB.

I can see my mic audio level bounding in the System Setting… and I can even see it in the “Record Two Seconds” window in the Audio Config… but zip in the From Mic window. Mic feed works on Zoom and Audio Hijack.

Anyone have any thoughts on how I might trace this out?

Hi Art,

If you push the PTT button, do you still see nothing in the From Mic plot? Currently audio doesn't route through there unless in transmit, unless you have full duplex turned on in Tools->Options.

FWIW a request was made semi-recently to have From Mic always active (https://github.com/drowe67/freedv-gui/issues/987). I don't think there's been any action on it but the project can discuss the proposal further if there's sufficient demand.

Makes sense to me… or else maybe just relabel that tab as something a bit less specific, like maybe “TX Audio”.  Personally I do like to be able to QA my audio before putting it on the air.
