Congratulations on the release of Supplejack, Chris!

BTW, for your API integrations page, I have deployed an instance of my Papers Past OAI-PMH gateway here:
https://papers-past-oai-pmh.herokuapp.com/

This can be used for harvesting metadata or full text of up to 5000 newspaper articles, for research purposes.

Regards

Con

Hello developers,

It’s been a long time! The DigitalNZ team have been really busy during 2015
and we wanted to share some developments and let you know about our
developer survey. (Apologies for cross-posting.)

*DEVELOPER SURVEY*
During the next 24 hours we will send you a survey about the DigitalNZ API.
It’s a chance for you to give us feedback about what we do. Your response
is important because this research will help inform what level of service
and investment is justified in the future

*OPEN SOURCING DIGITALNZ -- SUPPLEJACK*
We have open sourced the DigitalNZ metadata harvesting system and search
platform and released it under the name Supplejack. This means that you can
host your own harvesters and start collecting data from diverse sources.
The project code and documentation can be found on our Github account.
Please get in touch if you would like to learn more.

*COMMERCIAL USE METADATA*
Nearly two years ago, in association with five cultural heritage
organisations, we launched a pilot programme for supplying metadata
licensed for commercial use through the DigitalNZ API. Since then the
number of contributing organisations has slowly grown and there are
currently nearly 400,000 metadata records available for inclusion in
services that generate revenue. We would love to be able to point to more
examples of this data being used in a commercial context. That way we can
encourage more of our partners to agree to release their metadata in this
way. Get in touch if you’re interested in learning more.

*API INTEGRATIONS PAGE*
We recently compiled a showcase of applications that use the DigitalNZ API
to give people a sense of what we do. If you think we’ve missed your
example, please get in touch and we will include it.

Thanks for reading this far and we looking forward to hearing from you in
the survey.

Great. Thanks Conal. I'll share this with my Wellington-based colleagues when I see them later today.

This looks very interesting.

All the best,
Chris
