I've been using the Auckland Libraries search tool to find images for some walking tours:

http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz/dbtw-wpd/heritageimages/advanced.htm

I have the ID's which are things like "1-W1235" and it works but isn't the nicest interface to use. I'm wondering if DigitalNZ pulls through this kind of meta data and whether it is searchable? If it was then I could use this search instead and at the same time geo-code all of the photos as I know exactly where they are.

Also to answer these types of questions do you think it would be a good idea to have a page (possibly wiki style) for each supplier where people could leave tips and hints on searching particular data sources? What you pull through, general tips, etc.

Thanks,
Glen

Hi Glen,

Blinkin' good point you have there. The id is in the DC Identifier
field but this field it isn't searchable.

Dan and I are looking into a solution to this right now.

Good idea about the suggestions page. We're doing some work on the
Website this year. I'll add this to our ideas list.
Suggestions are always welcome!

Cheers,
Fiona
