Hi all

Wondering if any of you with smallish agencies have ever gone down the "associates" route - i.e. people who aren't employees but who you work with on a regular basis and who you want to talk about on your website..?

If you have - are there issues with IR35, contracts, etc? Have you got these associates to sign disclaimers or just gone with the flow?

All advice welcome

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike

We never made it official when we had one very regular associate. Seemed to work ok for us (he was a particularly easy going chap) - no contracts, had him on the website...

Cheers
Matt

It is worth searching for Carl smith from ngenworks in the usa. I listen to his podcast and he talks about this type of stuff as them being 'friendgenineers' and has written about it I think. He also made a good point on the latest episode about the problem of associates making more cash than permanent staff and the tensions.
