My guess is they're looking for Kindle-like business from these things. Sell 'em cheap, pile 'em high with Stuff for people to Buy. Mostly telly and movies, I expect. 

Would you buy one? For you, for your kids?

I haven't seen anything about it's build quality at all - I guess ultimately that's what it comes down to. There's cheap Android tablets all over but most of the ones I've seen have been panned because of crap touch screens, bad battery life etc.

Tempted to buy one as an Android tablet testing device - especially as,
if it takes off, there will be quite a few of them out there in the wild...
