Good morning,

We have our second meeting of the UWM Digital Future operations and services constituent group next Monday, January, 24 in Holton Hall 180, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm. You will find the agenda below and on Google Docs at: http://tinyurl.com/dfos-january2011-agenda.

Agenda

Resources
* Digital Future Web site: http://digitalfuture.uwm.edu
* Google Groups: http://tinyurl.com/df-svcs-operations
* EDUCAUSE Resources: http://bit.ly/fLDpSS (log in to Pantherfile and page will pop up)

Google Docs
Review Opportunities and Challenges Groupings - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-summary

Tasks
1.) Self-select into one of the groups:
Group 1: Students/Community - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-students-community
Group 2: Work Environment/Environment - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-work-environment
Group 3: Access/Change - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-access-change
Group 4: Paperless/Learning - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-paperless-learning
Group 5: Standards/Constraints - http://tinyurl.com/dfos-standards-constraints

2.) Create a short statement developed from ideas generated during the brainstorming sessions that describes a future state of digital technology at UWM. Do this for each of your group headings (i.e. Group 1 would create this for Students and for Community.)

3.) Identify which items will/should have the greatest impact. It is possible that several items can be combined to create one item. Make sure items are actionable.

4.) Prioritize which items will be accomplished in which time frame: 1-2 years, 5 years, and 10 years

5.) Document your decisions on the corresponding Google Doc (follow the tinyurl listed above). Each group will do this. We encourage you to bring laptops so you can do this during the meeting.

Next Steps
Once you have your items prioritized, start working on the following for our February meeting:

* Environmental Scan - what are others doing?
* Research on best practices

If you have not joined Google Groups found at http://digitalfuture.uwm.edu, please do so. We encourage you to bring laptops to document our collaborations on Google Docs.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ed Rodriguez (e...@uwm.edu) or myself.

Cheers, stay warm and go Packers!

Bob and Ed
