While the journalism industry is still recovering from the collective
shock of mass layoffs, buyouts and closures, there have also been some
impressive new ventures to emerge in the last couple years as
brilliant reporters, managers, administrators and educators react to
the demands of a changing mediascape.

Journalism isn't dying, it's on the cusp of a new era.

Now in it's 3rd year, the Journalism Innovations conference, produced
by Independent Arts and Media, The University of San Francisco, G.W.
Williams Center for Independent Journalism and the Society for
Professional Journalists, is playing a vital part in shaping the next
phase of the industry.

The conference brings together some of the brightest minds and most
innovative projects to network and share skills and ideas.

This year's conference will take place April 30-May 2 on the campus of
the University of San Francisco. We are accepting proposals for
session ideas and sponsorships now and will be sending out regular
updates across a variety of mediums over the next few months.
