Hello,
I'm writing to let the community know about our upcoming media conference and invite you to submit a session proposal, discuss exhibit space and participate in 3 days of workshops, trainings and panel discussions aimed at directing the new media landscape.
As the largest media conference in Northern California, Journalism Innovations fills a vital role in shaping the future of this dynamic industry.
This unique event is expected to attract over 600 hundred professionals, educators, advocates and citizens involved in the media field.
Some of the confirmed speakers and organizations include Davey D (Hard Knock Radio), Joan Walsh (Salon.com), Malkia Cyril (Center for Media Justice), Susan Mernit (oaklandlocal.com), The Society for Professional Journalists, UC Berkeley's Knight Digital Media Center and the Center for Investigative reporting.
As we prepare for this year's conference we'd like to thank all the our supporters, sponsors, speakers, registered participants and community members who have pitched in so far and invite you to view the updated schedule of events here: http://JournalismInnovations.org.
The sessions are designed to appeal to professional journalists, media activists and interested community members and topics run the gamut from the changing face of the media industry and low cost technology resources to using social media for job searching and community/media relationships. We'll also debuting a working cut of a new documentary on former New York Times journalist Jayson Blair.
We'll be adding sessions and speakers throughout the next couple of weeks and would still like to have a few more community and technology focused sessions. So if there is something you'd like to see on the program (preferably that you can help organize) please let me know as soon as possible.
We're still have exhibition tables for sale and we are also looking for event sponsors. Table information is available here: http://ji3exhibitors.eventbrite.com/
Thanks again for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you all on April 30th.
Best, Kwan Booth Journalism Innovations III Conference Producer
