I had a very productive meeting with Tom and Carl from Native HQ,
where we discussed how Butetown.org can be improved. At the moment
the .org site is down, although the ning site is still active. Partly
due to a lack of resources, partly due to commitment to other work
project butetown.org has been neglected of late.

Although the ning site was great for interaction with users, but the
bulk of information was posted by myself or Anthony Brito and
recently, however, Ning has stopped allowing media from other sources
to be embedded into what they call a text box so we feel restricted.

I have decided to move to a wordpress site which will give us more
control. And I am looking into integrate the ning into it.

Tom and Carl also turn me on to the idea of yahoo pipes and sharing
relevant post brought into the rss feed, which, if there isn't the
amount of resources need to continually update our site, we can at
least keep people interested.

We also talked about creating a facebook page that can be
simultaneously updated and got regular posters on Facebook to
contribute to Butetown.org, but maybe from within Facebook.

I am looking into how we can share info/posts with RadioCardiff.org
and with a Somaliland internet Radio site that I have been
commissioned to develop.

Finally we talked about the future of Butetown.org and DigitalButetown
and I said that i felt it is important that we stopped looking
inwardly and tried to think what Butetown can offer the wider
community.

Forget training, or at least training with no outcome. If there is
training, I think it should be for a specific goal, a live project.
