Hello fellow Google Group members!

I wanted to let you all know that submissions for the 2015 Festival programme are now open on our brand new Brighton Digital Festival website.

With over 100 events set to happen as part of Brighton Digital Festival's programme, we are encouraging everyone to add their events to the website before Sunday the 20th of July, when the Festival programme will go live to the public!

New organiser's can register on the website, while returning organisers can login and start submitting their next events to this year's programme. The Festival team will then review organiser's events, making sure all the right information is shared across all our channels.

There may be some gentle toothing troubles as we start using the new website, so if you come across any glitches or get stuck, get in touch with the festival at he...@brightondigitalfestival.co.uk and we'll try to help!

And now for more exciting news…

This is the last week artists, technologist and creative practitioners can apply to either the Arts & Technology or the newforms commissions. Be sure to find out more about the criteria for applications they before they close at Midnight on the 28th of June.

Thinking of organising an outstanding community focused event, but low on funds? The Grassroots Fund Awards are back again for 2015, offering small grants of £500 for independently organised events that engage the public with digital culture. Submissions close on the 5th of July, so apply soon!

Finally, as we do every month we are hosting our monthly meet-up on Tuesday the 30th of June from 18:00 at the Eagle pub in the laines. Want to come along and ask questions, meet other organisers, and have a drink? RSVP via Eventbrite today.

As always, get in touch with questions, comments, and cute gifs.

Best!

Jesse

Cheers!

Interesting.. I think..

Err.. What is meant by "Independently produced events.." in http://brightondigitalfestival.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Grassroots-Fund-Awards-Brief-2015.pdf

How do you define independent in this context?

Thanks!

Hi mysteriously named No One,

Independently organised events are activity that is not put on by the Festival, but are instead created by individuals or groups who want to see neat thing happen in September.

Hope that answers your question!

Best,
Jesse
