Hi Digital Action Team - Vancouver!

It has been a while since you signed up to this google group for the StopTheMeter.ca National Day of Action back in early 2011. Since then, OpenMedia.ca’s been hard at work campaigning and pushing forward in the fight to safeguard the open and affordable Internet in Canada.

I’m e-mailing you now to reconnect and say thanks. Our plan is to reactivate this google group in order to occasionally send you actions you can take in your community.

A great chance for outreach is just days away! Street Teams are once again returning to the streets of West Vancouver for another round of petitioning!

Just as with our efforts on Oct 12, we will be engaging with and informing West Vancouver locals in the Park Royal Mall area about Bill C-30 (the Online Spying Bill) and Lawful Access. While petitioning, we'll be asking for signatures, reaching out to passersby, and also letting all know about ways to get further involved with OpenMedia.ca (hint: let them know what we as Street Teams do)!

When: Saturday November 10th, 1:30-3:30 pm

If you need help with transit and/or directions, I can be reached at : aw...@openmedia.ca or 778 773 3851.

This round is pivotal! We're aiming to gather 100+ signatures that we can then deliver to the office door of West Van MP, John Weston.

I hope you all can make it, even if for just a portion of the time! This is a great chance, specifically for those who have yet to experience Street Teams in action, to get acquainted with our mission and tactics, and to see how else you'd like to get involved.

Thanks!
Awna
