Hi folks, here's some details Vancouver Stop The Meter Day of Action on Saturday. You can just show up at the art gallery at 1pm, but...

*Paul Kitz (on this list) has experience canvassing for Green Peace and OpenMedia. He's offered to help us do outreach on Saturday! We're suggesting everyone come by W2 @ 111 West Hastings at 11:30am. Paul will give suggestions/training on how to best engage people with the petition/fliers. Should be fun, and useful. We'll then walk down the art gallery.

*We're buying some "Internet Traffic Cop" vests and hats, badges etc... :) If you want to where this stuff, because it's fund and ridiculous you should also come by W2 at 11:30am. We'll try to bring some down the art gallery, but no guarantees. If you're sure you want some internet traffic cop stuff, please email Shea: Sh...@openmedia.ca

We will bring some "Data usage tickets", clipboards and petitions to the art gallery, but here's the basic plan:

1) If you can print off five copies of the Stop The Meter CRTC Petition:www.openmedia.ca/meter/toolkit
- Also print off some of the data usage tickets if possible (we'll have some on hand if not)
2) Bring a pen and a clipboard if you have one. (we'll have some to give out as well).
3) Meet at W2 @ 111 West Hastings at 11:30am on the 26th
- alternatively just show up at the art gallery at 1pm
4) Join up with one or two more people.
5) Walk around public places (busy streets, bus stations, campuses, coffee shops, mall entrances, etc) asking Canadians to sign the petition calling on Ottawa to "Stop The Meter and end Internet caps."  AND/OR hand out data usage tickets. Or do other fun educational things!

see you soon!
