Hey Stop The Meter - Kelowna,

We've had a number of inquiries from local Stop The Meter supporters wondering where you are meeting Saturday, February 26th @1pm for the petition drive. According to the Stop The Meter Kelowna Facebook event page nothing has been determined yet.

Given that we have a week until Stop The Meter National Day of Action can someone on this google group please suggest a central meeting location?

We can help your promote the meeting location, time and place, far and wide.

To help ensure a successful petition drive next Saturday we recommend the following steps:

1) Determine a central meeting location.
2) Invite local Stop The Meter supporters to participate.
3) Ask everyone attending to print five copies of the Stop The Meter CRTC petition.
4) Ask everyone attending to bring pens, a clipboard, and some creative ideas :)
5) Have one person draft 5-10 "walk routes" to help guide team of two or three when they arrive next Saturday for the petition drive.

We're here to help.

So, again, please suggest a central meeting place for the petition drive next Saturday :)

For The Internet,

If you just say the sails down town.. everyone here will know what we are talking about.
Its close enough that we can walk around, and go to local businesses and hand out the flyers as well...
As I think that is a good target as its already expensive to run a business, let alone pay more on our bills for the internet!!

Thanks Wes. I've updated your local Facebook event page. Is there a specific address or landmark? Or is it simply "The Sails Downtown"?

Hey Wes
I think there is an organizer for the community. Not sure of who he is though.
I only happened to stumble upon this by donating a violation ticket to be printed off, and handed out.

I am not the most educated person on the topic, other then the fact that I am a small business, who we host sites for, and I do 100 of my work online, and I know I cant afford usage based billing.
My business partner knows more about this and what it entails. Although we are super swamped with a deadline, so He is hard to reach right now.

We are attending the event on saturday at the sails.
I will be printing off some of the tickets, and petitions.

Hopefully everyone will print off as many as they can...  so there is enough to go around if people forget.

I am hoping that its not -20 out there on saturday - because if it is, i dont think this whole thing is going to have the impact that we want.
people dont go out when its cold like that... so hopefully its a nice sunny day and a little warmer.

Thats all I know!
Laura

Hi Glyn, yes the Sails is the large sculpture right downtown right next to the lake---everyone knows where it is so it is very up front and very visible and many events happen in front of it---cheers---wes--
