Summary: This study analyzed 2,376 student-ChatGPT interactions from 120 undergraduates completing a web programming assignment, coding them using a self-regulated learning (SRL) framework and then applying transition network analysis and sequence analysis to examine interaction dynamics.The findings revealed that students predominantly engaged in reactive loops of instructing and refining rather than deeper metacognitive strategies, a pattern of "cognitive offloading" that the authors warn risks undermining independent problem-solving skills and that calls for AI systems designed to scaffold reflection rather than simply deliver solutions.

It looks like this time overlaps with the faculty candidate seminar 9:30-10:30. Although they are trying to use the same time slots, since we're hoping to get most of the faculty candidates this month, I'm not sure if it will be a recurring issue.

Ah, good catch. Sorry for missing that!

In that case, let's plan to have the first meeting on February 13th at the same time. At least for the time being it doesn't appear to have any conflicts. I've updated the calendar to reflect the change.
