Bre-

At the end of your Rapid Prototyping talk @ CCC, someone asked about
making garbage bags. When I was in high school, I attended a "machine
tool" summer camp (which was a *lot* more fun than math camp!) @
niu.edu. While I was there, I learned how to make garbage bags.

The process is a lot like web printing (the type of printing presses
used by newspapers), i.e. it's really not practical to do a "few" bags.

You know, I think the point of the comment was "who would want to make garbage bags?" but I think that actually sounds really fun! I'm going to go check out this link, thanks!

It was actually kinda fun to make garbage bags. You can also print on
them using a web press. I've seen Halloween pumpkins printed on garbage
bags. If you run the machine slowly, you get something like the plastic
case of a glow stick. I've attached a quick sketch of the magic bit of
the machine.
