CURATEcamp 2012 - Data Management Education Discussion

Hello All,

I will be at CURATEcamp 2012 at Georgia Tech in a couple of weeks. I wanted to see who out there would be interested in having a discussion on data management education for faculty and students. I am very interested in this topic and think it's important for us, as data curation specialists, to educate data producers in data management procedures. It would not only make add value to their data, but would also make our jobs as data curators much easier. There are a few curricula I'm aware of, and would like to begin the discussion talking about what should be included in a curriculum. If you're planning to be at CURATEcamp at GT, and would be interested in participating in such a discussion, please respond and we can begin fleshing it out.

Hi Chris,

I think data management education would be a very interesting topic for discussion.  I'm by no means an expert on the topic (I'm new to the profession, so I'm not much of an expert on anything yet), but my institution is beginning to delve into projects involving user-generated data sets, so this is something I am definitely interesting in learning more about at CURATEcamp.
