Hi,
Some SyQuest EZ135 disks were recently found by my institution in a prominent collection we just acquired. Our digital duration lab already has a SyQuest EZ135 drive (with no power cord or data cord, however) but our team just can't seem to figure out how to work the reader into our current workflow. We have PC computers with Windows10. After doing some extensive amount of research online, it looks like the only way to connect the readers would be to find an older computer with a SCSI interface. Most people are less than enthused by the SCSI to USB   So before we go on this route, I was just wondering if anyone else had had any encounters with SyQuest EZ135 disks and if they would mind sharing their experience with me.

Please find attached a picture of the back of the drive. Any information concerning what power cords/adapters and data cords we should/could use is more than welcomed.

Thanks!

Hi, Patricia,

If you can scare up a Winbox with an open PCI slot and Windows 7, there
are several Adaptec SCSI cards you can get running -- I've successfully
done it (not in my office so can't check the exact card model).

I don't know whether this would work in a VM atop Windows 10, or whether
the lack of a Win10 driver would doom it. Anybody tried?

My favorite SCSI cable guide is
https://www.cablestogo.com/learning/connector-guides/scsi Once you have
a working card, it should help you figure out what cables/adapters you
need. (Ping me once you know, I may have it and be able to lend it!)

Good luck, and if you need a good home for that EZFlyer drive once
you're done with it, let's talk. :)
