Good evening,

I've setup my Digipi as an APRS Digipeater and had it running for a couple of months. I have verified that it is transmitting a beacon, digipeating local traffic, and igating traffic it hears. However, when I go to aprs.fi and look up the callsign (AI7EQ-2) it hasn't been seen in months (image below). Is it possible for the Digipi to both beacon on RF and to the internet at the same time? I've looked through the configuration files but have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. Any assistance would be appreciated!

Hi Sean, that's a valid question, I asked AI, :)

To achieve this, two separate PBEACON commands are required—one for the IG and one for RF transmission.3
The IG beacon should use the sendto=IG parameter to direct the packet to the APRS Internet Service (APRS-IS), while the RF beacon should use the via= parameter to define the digipeater path, such as WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1.

so, i suggest editing direwolf.digipeater.conf,  and duplicate the PBEACON line, only removing the "sendto=IG"
bit on the second PBEACON.  I haven't tried this, so let us know please!

Hi Craig & the group,

That appears to have fixed the issue. I'm getting both the RF beacon and it is now also showing up on aprs.fi. The line I added is below for others who may want to add it to their digipeater configuration. 73, Sean AI7EQ.

# --- Beacon for Internet ---
PBEACON sendto=IG delay=* every=* symbol=* lat=xx.xxxx long=-xxx.xxxx comment="My DigiPi"

* are customizable options for the command. Position is in decimal degrees. You can also customize the comment within the " ".
