I am happy to report that one a R pi 4 I am running Digipi current release and WeeWx with a Ecowitt WS 3900 weather station. Cool

I can verify WeeWx damon health - Cool

pi@digipi:~ $ sudo systemctl status weewx
● weewx.service - WeeWX
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/weewx.service; enabled; preset: enabled)

 Invocation: 6130c3363608473c96a874225f8ef454
       Docs: https://weewx.com/docs...

Is there a similar command for digpi?

I also can see WD5EMA-3 ON APRS.FI AND THE POSITION IS FINE.

I CAN NOT VERIFY MY DIGIPI CALL SIGN KJ4ZZB-2 WITH A CURRENT DATe AND TIME ON MAP OR OR APRS.FI (7-16-2026). I HAVE TRIED TO force an update with Webchat beacon - no joy (I hate caps lock)

I am not sure that Digipi is announcing my station to APRS-IS. How do I force this??

pi@digipi:/usr/local/bin $ more /home/pi/localize.env

There have been issues with position fix for KJ4ZZB

From the web my position is

33.83178                      -84.26841 (I believe this)

From cgps my position is

33.83189 N                   84.26812 W  (I believe this)

From direwolf my position is

root@digipi:/home/pi/config/direwolf-dashboard# more config.yaml

33.83187133                 84.26808167

From Weewx.conf (edited) my position is

33.83178                      -84.26841

From Digipi config my position is

(I think I made a mistake with my original position when running initialize

Thus edit nano /home/pi/localize.env

Corrected

NEWLAT=33.83187133 NEWLON=84.26841

What does the packet log show?

[0L] KJ4ZZB-2>APDW18,WIDE1-1:!3349.91NT08416.09W&360/000DigiPi igate/tracker http://digipi.org/

18:20:57  3D #GPS fix) ,

33.831897,          -84.268099, 0.0 mph, nan°, 302.4 m (looks right)

Nothing on aprs.fi

I am happy with digipi but position and MAP / APRS.fi   is driving me nuts. .

Hi Scott - cool on Weewx!  great software.

"systemctl status tnc"   will show you the status of the tnc, digipeater, webchat, etc.

The tnc will send yourcall-2 to aprs.fi every 20 minutes via the internet (digipeater
will do the same, only over RF).

the tnc is started when you turn on "APRS TNC/igate"

Not sure it helps, but those are some facts,

Hello Kenneth

I am indeed writing up my learning. This is teh only way I know of to keep track of what I am doing.

What I am finding as I learn how to manipulate WeeWx and digipi is that AP is killing me. There are instruction to install interceptor drivers and SPRS extensions for WeeWx that are obsolete but AI does not know that so what look like good instruction are out of date. I am writing and testing instructions to fix that as best I can.

At the moment my next issue with Digipi is MAPS.I am sure it is my stupidity.

I know I am on the internet
I am running APRS Digipeater
I have my Call KJ4ZZB with the correct verified APRS-IS passcode.
Yet MPS remains just a map with no data. Again I ask what am I doing wrong?

When I hear from Craig and he corrects my ignorance I will add it to my notes.

As a DRAFT with ERRORS here is what my current write up looks like.

The DigiPi maps feature will show stations that have positions heard on RF.
It will not hear your own transmission (but it will hear digipeats of
your transmission).

not sure if that helps, but that's a related fact,

I think Scott figured out that weewx and direwolf were both trying to use port 8000/tcp.

I did a video on weather/weewx/radio, which is a bit dated, and I'd use Scott's instructions,
as I had to relearn it recently as well.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gB6Dp2a2lA&t=1s

There's a weewx aprs plugin, and i made "aprs-send-weather" which sends the
weather packet to direwolf/digipi for RF transmission,

Scott,

This is great. Looking forward to you completing this project. My Linux stills are at a cut/paste level right now, but I’d like to take a stab at implementing this on my DigiPi.

Do you think it would be possible to distribute local weather warnings via APRS? We just had a local weather system here in South Texas and this would be another tool we could use for advanced weather warnings (flash flood/tornado/river flood warning).

Hello Craig

You are correct I did sort out a port conflict.

I need to rebuild WeeWx with my current instructions as a final check then I will put this up on a web site.

My ultimate goal is to oubliah WBGT values at will to any APRS data feed.

Thanks

This will document how to build a Ecowitt weather station, install it on a Raspberry Pi, Load Ecowitt extensions, load APRS packet manager and load a script to send APRS packets with weather data to APRS. FI
