AZ 25 node details

Hello I am a frequent flyer on this web site. 

I ham slowly working my way over the Digipi UI

I have APRS working (get a packet , send to APRS-IS  over internet) 

APRS Digipeater working Get a packet and repeat it if needed or act as I gate and forward to APRS-IS 

APRS Digipeter with GPS with minor modification to DW. Digipeater.conf 

APRS GPS tracket - Not sure if this is digipete with GPS or just send a APRS position report packet. 

AX 25 node with PAT winmail 

I seem to be sending a new SSID KJ4ZZB-4 

WD5EMA-10 audio level = 9(2/1)    __||||___
[0.3] WD5EMA-10>BEACON:DeKalb ARES RMS Packet Server<0x0d>

Hwere WD5EMA-10 is my AX 25 station where a packet is recieved and sent as a winmail GW to Winlink / Email services. 

[0L] KJ4ZZB-4>BEACON:KJ4ZZB-4 Linux Node http://digipi.org/

This BEACON is this APRS or to maintain contact with teh AX 25 note WD5EMA? I think the latter.

Here I think the fire station winlink GW WD5EMA is beaconing to me (KJ4ZZB) to maintain connection

Again I am not sure where -4 comes from but I think it is for AX 25 packet protocol connectivity. Is that correct? 

I am sending emails to various folks via digipi and RF via PAT inmail. This is interesting via Digpi PI.

Hi Scott, that's right, the -4 SSID is for ax.25 networking (node services).

checkout direwolf.node.conf for details, that's what's used when you start
"AX.25 Linux Node", which is automatically started when you start "Pat Email".

Your receive volume is a bit low (9), increase rig volume until you get about 50 or so.
