I'm a new DigiPi user but pretty much an old TM-D710 user. I had a 700
and upgraded to the 710 because I have a visual impairment and use one
of the Kenwood VGS (Voice Guidance System) chips--I forget whether it's
the VGS-1 or -3)--and the VGS in the 710 is better than the one in the
700. The radio is already set up for proper beaconing, and it's been
confirmed to work properly. I now have a Master Communications DRA50
interface, and as soon as I post this message, I'm setting up the
software on a Pi 5, so, before I do something stupid and annoy the
entire APRS community, are there any changes I need to make on the 710
required to work with DigiPi? If so, if you would, please, identify the
changes by menu number. While the VGS is pretty good, it doesn't speak
the names of every menu category or option, but it says the menu numbers
just fine.

Thanks in advance.

Great questions Steve!

I wish I had a 710, so I'm not sure I can help.  The DRA should use
audioin/audioout/ground/ptt
connections.

Rig should be on 144.390 in the United States, no offset, no tone
(especially not ctcss 100hz),
FM modulation.   Adjust mic-gain to taste by comparing how loud you are
to other stations.
If using the speaker output for audio, adjust the volume knob so PktLog
reports volume levels
between 20 and 80 (50 is ideal).   There's a vibrant blind-hams
community of which I'm sure
you're already aware, and a few on this group.

if it helps,
-craig
