I've got an old Pi 3B that I'm trying to setup with my old FT-817 through a discontinued Wolphilink using a USB audio adapter.

I see the USB audio adapter as audio device 0,0, and ARDOP says it's trying to make a connection, but I don't hear any audio from a speaker I plugged into the USB audio device.

I was trying to install PAT and ARDOPC on my own before I tried to install the DigiPi interface, and Winlink Express was able to connect to ARDOPC over the network and I was able to hear some audio, so I know the Pi can talk to the audio device and make a sound.

However, when I turn on ARDOP and try the same thing, I don't hear any sound.

The Wolphilink has a VOX PTT trigger, so I shouldn't need to have DigiPi trigger the PTT.

What logs should I check to see why audio isn't coming out of my speaker when I try to make a Winlink connection over ARDOP?

Any help would be appreciated.

73's.

Hi Noah, you're pioneering with that hardware, so I can be sure.

If you click SysLog you'll see what ARDOP is doing. it should report
info about the audio hardware.  also look at .asoundrc, as it uses
a special bitrate that ARDOP likes, which  may or may-not be
supported by your audio interface.

if it helps,

So.... I just looked again, and it turns out I plugged the speaker into the wrong side of the trrs Y-splitter cable (i.e. it was plugged into the Mic side instead of the Speaker side...)

I tested again, and I'm getting audio out of it.

I'll try to hook it up to my FT-817 this weekend and report on how the hardware works.
