Hello everyone,

Brand new user.

Setup: Raspberry Pi 4 | TH-D74

Really just wanting APRS I-Gate since there are none around me. Unfortunately I am not being seen on APRS.FI other than RF occasionally.

Been looking through everyone's posts to see if there are similar instances but haven't had any luck trying other's solutions.

I'm seeing no packets in my PktLog and it seems to be telling me that it cannot open the audio device (TH-D74), despite my SysInfo showing the radio for GPS as well as Audio.

I suspect it shows this in SysInfo just from initial setup, not from current connection?

Here is PktLog/Direwolf:

Dire Wolf version 1.8 KM6LYW-6
Includes optional support for:  gpsd hamlib cm108-ptt libgpiod dns-sd

Reading config file /run/direwolf.tnc.conf
Audio device for both receive and transmit: default  (channel 0)
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:999:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Could not open audio device default for output
No such file or directory
Pointless to continue without audio device.

Dire Wolf version 1.8

Here is SysInfo:

If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it!

Hi Spencer,

The THD74 can't be driven directly via it's usb port, as far as i know.

I would suggest getting an AIOC "all in one cable" adapter for the d74 (i've done it),
and select "AIOC" when initializing digipi.  Works great!  cool rig.

Ah, that's probably the problem then.

Luckily I have an AIOC arriving shortly!

I'll post the result once installed.

Thanks for the speedy reply Craig!
