Waveshare 3.5 Rpi LCD screen

Just attached the waveshare 3.5 Rpi screen to my Rpi 3B+ and it looks powered up but nothing is appearing on the screen. Any idea what to do? Does the Waveshare LCD screen not work with Digipi? How can I get it working? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi John, it needs to be configured, either during DigiPi initialization (select ili9486 screen type),
or, if you already Initialized DigiPi, you may directly edit localize.env,

click Shell
password = raspberry

sudo remount
sudo nano localize.env


Set the display type on this line:

NEWDISPLAYTYPE=ili9486
