HELP! Waveshare ST7735S SPI Screen Powers Up but is Blank

All:

I am using a R-Pi Zero 2W for my DigiPi. I have attached a Waveshare ST7735S SPI LCD hat to the board. The screen lights up when I power up the R-Pi. So far, so good.

I image the SD card, setup the Wifi, connect to it, and get to the "Initialize" screen via my PC browser. I select the ST7735 option (among the other settings) and apply it. I reboot the device and the LCD screen remains blank.

When I click "Screen" in the menu, it shows the top logo and my callsign (see screenshot below). But the LCD shows nothing at all.

I tried the fix that Craig posted on the old Groups.io page but that did not work either.

Hi Ben,

Depends what board you have I suspect.  The ST7735S driver doesn't seem to be implemented the same way on different boards.  Exactly which model display are you using? Is it this one? Waveshare 

The digibanner and direwatch python programs may need tweaking.

g'day all,

the ST7735S isn't supported, every screen is entirely different.  DigiPi.org shows three
screens (with links).  I like the  st7785 (small, $12), and the ili9486 (large).
