Digipi using Yaesu FT-818

Hi 

I have connected my FT-818 to Digipi, I can change frequency I can receive but as soon as I TX it lock on TX,  the method I use to connect is via a USB connection using UCB CAT controller box that I got on amazon.  when I use windows to connect it all works great but not with Digipi

Any help would be grateful

If it's similar to the ft857 it's holding dtr or rts high and locking tx.

Hi Shaun

Stuck on first TX is almost always RF on the USB cable.  Ferrite?

Stuck on at boot is often the GPS service asserting RTS/DTR, thinking your radio is a GPS device.

Click SysLog and look for associated errors, specifically "EMI?" and "-19"

Hi all

I have the same problem, but gave up on it :-(

I tried "PTT via cat" tried "PTT on RTS and DCS" 

Always same result. Receive works, CAT control works but as soon as I try so transmit, PTT gets stuck.

Tried the same on a Linux Mint system with the same Hardware (FT-818, Digirig Mobile) I used flrig and everything works flawlessly as expected. 

Flrig does not use Hamlib. So I guess Hamlib might be the bad guy in that game.

DigiPi works great with my ICOM IC-7200 wich has an internal Soundcard and internal Comport. 

But no success with the IC-818, X5105, TX-500 wich all need the Digirig Mobile.

Yes I tend to agree that its a Hamlib thing on Digipi.  Hamlib works fine on my windows pc with the Digirig setup.  Such a pity

If it's not a USB error, the next step would be looking at PktLog to see what direwolf
thinks about the situation.  I like the idea of talking to the hamlib guys too.  You might
also see more hardware/kernel info by opening a Shell and running "dmesg" during/after
the ptt event.
