I monitor the frequency that I'm using with Direwolf. I see the following
ERROR!!!  Unknown APRS Data Type Indicator "W"
Use of "BEACON" in the destination field is obsolete.  You can help to improve the quality of APRS signals.

I removed the dest=BEACON and that error goes away.

What is the purpose of the CBEACON command? By removing that does it wreck the real purpose of the line?

I tested for a while removing the dest=BEACON and didn't see any errors. I did however notice that my Node CANOE wasn't showing on my DigiPi screen.

I just put it back to see if that is related and now I get this same error when viewing from Direwolf on BPQ32 system.

CANOE audio level = 40(10/5)    ___||||||
[0.5] CANOE>BEACON,KM4BLG-10:CANOE Node<0x20>
ERROR!!!  Unknown APRS Data Type Indicator "C"

Tell the sender (CANOE) to use the proper product identifier from https://github.com/aprsorg/aprs-deviceid

Hi David,

CBEACON is a generic packet, no position, no icon, just a routing table and some text.  It's
more appropriate for AX.25, not APRS.

PBEACON is APRS-oriented with icons, positions, comments, etc.

You might find the direwolf manual interesting in this regard,
