• Fix ttyd/gps/logs on mobile devices
• Upshift callsign when Initializing
• Add support for new rigs, ic7300mkII, FTX-1, Hamlib 4.7.1
• Recompile direwolf 1.8 with Pi fixes against new hamlib
• Fix MHS35 screen serial protocol 0b00 for newer screens
• Linux system upgrade, latest kernel and user-space
• Experimental Direwolf 1.9 in /usr/local/bin which drives bluetooth TNC rigs

I'm particularly interested in JS8Call testing, and Mercury testing.  You can use
Mercury in Pat by selecting VARAHF as a transport, as they use the same API,
then connect to an experimental mercury Winlink station (KO0OOO  7.100Mhz
or 7.1065Mhz).

I am wondering if the Beta6 image is good.  I have downloaded it twice and both times the green light flashes for a bit then goes solid green, but nothing is ever displayed and the WiFi never comes up.  I thought maybe I had a bad SD card but I loaded the Beta-5 image on to the same card and it worked just fine.  I am using a RPI Zero 2W with the small display. and a DigiRig for the radio interface.

Hi Dan, thanks for the report - that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

I should have mentioned the ST7789 display is not longer the default,
and is now the "DSI" 800x480 disply.  You can use HDMI to monitor
the status concurrently as well.   Be sure to select ST7789 when
Initializing from now on, but for now, don't expect to see anything on
the ST7789 display after flashing/booting.

The hotspot appeared here on a Zero2W, but it takes a couple minutes.

That helped Craig, I just waited for the DigiPi WiFi to appear and then connected to 10.0.0.5 and went thru the initialization and configuration steps.  Up and running on Beta 6, checking out backward compatibility features while I wait for a small HDMI monitor.  Any suggestions for something around 12 inches or less?

Honestly, I REALLY like these DSI screens:

The five and seven inch screens are ideal.  They look/feel/taste
just like a cell phone screen.

DSI screens are all compatible, just be sure to get 800x480 resolution.

The Raspberry Pi screws into the back of the screen, and the entire
things sits on your rig/desk.

There's nothing wrong with HDMI either, just a bit more bulky with
the cables, power cords, etc.  Also, the Zero2W doesn't have a
DSI ribbon connector, so I recommend a Pi 3A+ or better now.

HDMI and DSI displays are new with DigiPi 2.2-BETA6, fully GPU
accelerated.


My go-to DigiPi is now a Pi3A+ and 800x480 DSI screen all for $55 :

Hi Craig,

I really like the DSI display.  I was able to obtain a Pi4B+ with a 7 inch touch screen and it is really nice.  The 7 inch is definitely big, especially compared to my Zero2W and ST display.  I prolly could have used a 5 inch vs. the 7 but the price was right.  thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with these new displays.
