Hello everyone,

It took me an hour and a half (I'm not good with Linux) but I FINALLY got conversd installed and configured properly on my AX25 node. I am still running the old 1.9-4.

My question is. I don't need to manually start up conversd in shell each time I boot up the Digipi do I? When it was installed was it configured automatically to run at Digipi startup with that Makefile?

I hope these questions weren't too confusing....

Thanks a million,
Dave

great work Dave!

I think you know this, but DigiPi 2.0 integrates Conversd chatrooms with the BBS.

If you retrofitted DigiPi 1.9, I suspect conversd will start itself if you did a "make install",
and you'll see a service.   "systemctl start conversd" should start it up, if it doesn't start
automatically.

AX.25 chatrooms is a really neat feature, just like IRC chat, without internet.

I got to fooling with it a little more.
It does start up when Digipi is fired up so that is good. No need for any commands.

I do have a quick question. Do you remember where any of this stuff is located at so I can edit it out? It isn't in the conversd.conf or the conversd.motd files.

I want to get rid of the pointless three stars at the top. I also want to get rid of the "FYI: No password found." and the line under it that says, "conversd @ LCITY Ping-pong" and the "Type /HELP for help". I saw on your video all that crap was gone as well as in Digipi 2.0 but I cannot for the life of me find where this nonsense is buried at.

Do you happen to know offhand?

Gracias,
Dave

/usr/local/etc/conversd/ maybe?  i'd have to look.

most of that wordy login info was in the C source code, maybe a few
things in /etc/conversd/  .

DigiPi 2.0 has all the mods, including the updated source code in
~/git/conversd

Got it taken care of. Thanks!

BTW, I do have 2.0 and it's a fantastic upgrade!
1.9-4 was my first version of Digipi and I spent a lot of time tinkering around with it and getting it just right. Not ready to let it go just yet. :)

Appreciate all the help.

Dave
