I was going along like gangbusters - during the day seeing traffic every 15-20 seconds, slowing considerably at night, which is understandable. Then Sunday night (that night I got the red screen of death, which I haven't returned to) it was dead, but I thought "oh, it's Sunday night"
Monday morning, fired up, and silence. Same Pi, same antenna, same radio, everything.
So, I thought, "Flash a new (old) card" - no prob - 30 minutes later I'm up with a virginal card. No sounds. Swapped some hardware around and restarted each time; no dice. Even built an open-air choke. I'm back to "Last know working setup" now.
Interestingly, I have another HT in the room with a decent whip antenna, and while I was hearing APRS squads on it last week with "good traffic" today it's silent.
Running 2.0-1
All I've changed is the passwd and added "PTT /dev/ttyUSB0 RTS" to .conf
Digipeater gets off the ground with:
Launch WebChat and see:
Attached to KISS TCP client application 0 on port 8001 ...
Ready to accept KISS TCP client application 1 on port 8001 ...
Hit [Send Position] and I both see a TX light on my connected radio (a Feng AR52, a decent little 10w HT) and hear it on the monitoring HT on my desk.
Am I nuts? Did I forget something in setup. Could my ISP be blocking me? Could other local APRS gangs be ghosting me? :)
The thing that gets me is, I know I'm regionally challenged (though APRS.fi shows plenty going on within 5 miles), but I'm also not seeing any IG attempts. Nothing on the screen, nothing in the log.
This station (KJ0TEN-2) hasn't registered a Time since yesterday, so maybe that's why nothing's trafficking my way?
I see my Postion calls:
and these, though I haven't had time to learn the hyroglyphics:
I'll go drive around and try my APRSDroid (KJ0TEN-3) phone through my UVPro (KJ0TEN-1) and see what shows and how far away...
Any tips are super appreciated :-)
