Problems getting CAT control to work with the DigiPi and FT-DX10 radio

I can get the audio connected and used by WSJT-X, JS8 Call, Fldigi programs. But I have not been able to get the CAT control to work.

For initialization I used Rig = 1042, Baud = 38400, Port = /dev/ttyUSB1.
Radio usb cable connected to DigiPi and turned on.  Verify in the terminal that dual USB ports generated by the FTDX10 were present and that there are now two new USB ports (dev/ttyUSB0 and dev/ttyUSB1).

In the WSJTX settings radio tab, set radio to FTDX10, port /dev/USB1, baud 38400.  Use CAT control for PTT, other settings set to default.
Click on "TEST CAT".  Radio immediately switches to TX mode but no power out and stays that way until the "test cat" times out or I unplug USB cable from the digipi.  The hamlib error I get is basically computer timed out in trying to connect.

Get the same result for JS8Call, Fldigi.  For Pat Winlink, once started I get the error "cannot get frequency form rig, connection 0.0.01:4532 , connection refused, along with QSY failure.

I have tried various permutations of the settings but nothing seems to work. Has anyone tried to connect FTDX10 to a digiPi?

Hi Larrie

I have the same problem with the ft-710. I have the PTT working on dev/ttyUSB0, but I am having issues getting audio into the radio, thus no power.

Mark, did you ever get the FT-710 working? If so, would you share the settings?
Thx,

Did you download the fix from Yaesu to add/correct the Audio settings? I have the FT-710 using USB Port 7.

Here’s what I have :
Computer > Device Manager
    Ports (COM & LPT)
Silicon Labs Dual CP2105 USB to UART Bridge Enhanced COM Port (COM 7) open
Port Settings Bits per second : 9600
               Data bits : 8
               Stop bits : 1
                Flow control : none.  OK
Then move to : Audio inputs and outputs
I labeled the two new input and output
      FT-710 Microphone (USB Audio Device)
       FT-710 Speakers (USB Audio Device)
Then onto WSJT-X Radio Tab :
     Rig : Yaesu FT-710
      CAT Control > Serial Port : COM7
Baud Rate : 9600 Data Bits EIGHT
Stop Bits : One, Handshake : None
         Update Hamlib: 64- bits
PTT Method: CAT, Mode : USB
          Split Operation:None

I hope this helps. OB Esquinaldo KD4HOU
