Hi

I have searched and most of the no PTT relates to HF gear.

I have tried in Discord with no results, so I have to try here. There is 2 of us with almost identical setups having the same issue.

No ACTUAL PTT, there is in the log from Direwolf IG>TX but the radio never goes into transmit. I have tested the Digirig mobile and the GT-3 on my macOS using WSJT-x setup for RTS PTT, and when I test the PTT in settings, it puts the radio into PTT, so the hardware works.

The pktlog on digipi says IG>TX

There has to be something that I have missed or stuffed up setting up or something but I am not sure where to look to try and solve the issue.

Thanks

g'day David,

Do me a favor and boot with everything connected, then start APRS Digipeater, wait
exactly 8 seconds and watch for transmit.

Please let me know what you see and send that PktLog again - thanks!

ig>tx can be ignored as that's the internet suggesting your station transmit the
packet if it wants to.

HI Thanks

Yeah did that, still no transmit on radio. And this is all it logs, if it hasn't received any RF APRS packets.

the 1:02pm attached log doesn't show a transmit attempt, we should see a
line starting with [0L]
eight seconds after you turn [ON]  "APRS Digipeater"

the log simply shows you connecting to the internet aprsis

There doesn't appear to be any attempt to transmit if it should be there.

If I select Digipeater instead of iGate I do get the radio going into Transmit.

The log confirms that, it looks like it's working.  APRS/igate doesn't
transmit anything uncommanded
(you need to use WebChat, aprsdroid, yaac, etc, to transmit anything).

APRS/Digipeater transmits a beacon and relays message-type packets from
the internet to target
radios within 160km of your location, along with repeating any packets
with WIDE1-1 from RF, to RF.

if it helps,

Thanks for that.

Had my understanding confused. Had iGate to and from the internet to RF. Digipeater to repeat only local traffic not connected to internet so that is where the confusion came from.

Thanks for sorting it, now just sorting the audio on the HH :)
