Problems with Pat Winlink client will not QSY and PTT

Good afternoon,

         I'm on the latest version of DigiPi, my setup is as follows:

FT857 D 

Digirig mobile

Pi Zero 2W

WSJTX works so the hardware is good...

With the AX.25 node network running I'm trying to send a winlink email via a 2m packet node. When I try to connect the radio does not QSY nor does it activate the PTT for more than a fraction of a second. I've done some troubleshooting based on grok (ai) and it looks like direwolf is running and everything is there hardware wise I just can't get it to work.

Am I going about this the wrong way? Has anyone gotten it to work or does anyone have a setup guide?

just a short question. How do  you set up wsjtx? Everytime when I try so set a radio with Digirig Mobile (FT-817, TX-500) it PTT as soon as I press "Test Cat" 

Can you share your settings?

is the 857 one of the hybrid rigs whereas you use RTS for PTT, yet use the serial port for QSY/hamlib communication?

Selected "DigiRig Mobile" when initalizing?

What does the top of the SysInfo page tell us?

May not be relevant, but just in case... if you selected digirig at initialize time, you can subsequently configure CAT control for Pat via the method I describe here:

You will presumably have to edit that command line with a different Rig #, port, and speed.  And you may not need the "-P RTS"

great, that confirms your hardware is all set.  and yes, as for the hybrid radios
(RTS for PTT, and serial for QSY), please edit /etc/systemd/system/rigctld.service
using Adam's instructions,


Pat/Rigctld -

sudo remount

sudo nano /etc/systemd/system/rigctld.service

Configure using use RTS PTT by adding -P RTS

ExecStart=/usr/bin/rigctld -m 3088 -r /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 19200 -P RTS

The above line is also what you need to do to get CAT control for the g90 on Pat if you have selected DigiRig Mobile during initialization.
