Good afternoon everyone,
I was looking for a way to verify the audio input to my digipi I custom built an interface cable for my digirig mobile. I've got PTT control but I'm unsure if I'm getting good audio input or not off of the cable. The transceiver I'm using is an icom ic281h so I had to custom make the cable.

I know that there's alsa mixer but I was wondering if there was a way to at least through the command line see a visual representation of the input audio levels.

Thanks for all the help.

Hi Mike,  stop all services to free up your audio device, then run this in the Shell,

arecord -vv -f cd -D hw:0,0 /dev/null

it'll show a VU meter.  open/close your squelch to get an idea.

cool,

Just the info I was looking for, thank you sir. I figured it was something you had thought of and baked in, but I don't have a ton of free time to go digging through documentation so I appreciate your patience and quick reply.
