Myquess is that the SoftGOT uninstalled some common components. Melsoft packages share a lot of files and drivers. If you have any CD/DVD with the "Melsoft Environment" package, try reinstalling just this package.

i am having this same problem if any1 managed to fix it, installing IQ works on a win10 pc, disc 1 worked fine and installed gx works and gx developer no problem, but then i get the error on other discs saying something hasnt been installed correctly and to restart

I've ran into this issue with several of the computers at work. The only thing that seems to work for me is to boot into safe mode and install all the software. To do this, click on the windows logo on the start bar and type "msconfig". Open the application and go to the boot tab. Select Safe Boot, hit apply, and reboot the computer. Once you've installed all the software, go back into msconfig and turn off Safe Boot.

Had this restart issue today. I deleted the registry entry like you suggested and it fixed it. The only way I found to prevent this is to sign into windows with an administrator account. Otherwise, I would have to modify the registry.

Mitsubishi Electric brand software (MELSOFT) provides an integrated product suite to reduce the total cost of ownership and speed up time to market. During the engineering stage, MELSOFT products are used to design systems encompassing the entire portfolio of automation products. Powerful simulation tools are used to reduce programming and debug time. Machine operators benefit from visualization products to further increase operation efficiencies. A broad range of maintenance tools are also available to decrease time to repair. Empowering people to perform their job functions in the least amount of time and with minimum effort is why MELSOFT products are preferred by automation professionals around the world.

iQ Works is a comprehensive software suite that enables intuitive programming and setup of any Mitsubishi Electric system, including network configuration, PLC programming, motion controller and servo setup, GOT screen design, and robot configuration. Simulators and label sharing are also integrated to simplify cross-discipline engineering and troubleshooting. The highly graphical and fully customizable workspace provides a user-friendly interface with full visibility and control over the entire system.

GX Works3 is the programming and configuration software for iQ-F and iQ-R controllers. GX Works2 is the programming and configuration software for FX, L, and Q Series controllers. Following the goal of maximum efficiency, GX Works2 & GX Works3 conform to IEC61131-3 standards, allowing developers to mix and match between five different programming languages and save parts of projects in libraries for use within future applications.

MX Component is an Active X control library supporting various Mitsubishi Electric communication paths, from the PC to Mitsubishi Electric PLCs. MX Component enables the development of a wide variety of applications by supporting various languages, such as Visual Basic, Visual C++, Access, VBA of Excel and VB Script.

As you can see above, there is a different look and feel between the two software packages. There are many similarities too, but I think the overall feel is much more intuitive (especially in parameter settings) in the newer GX Works 3 software.

Once you have your IP addresses chosen for your components, it may also be handy to have associated connection documentation (if available) that may be specific to each vendor in front of you. In this case, I also have a camera system that works with Mitsubishi and has step-by-step guidelines to get connected that are protocol specific.

This is a little more advanced than just starting with a typical PLC and HMI that would connect quickly, easily, and somewhat seamless. But I thought showing a more complex system was a good way to demonstrate the flexibility, intuitive setup, and ability of having the multiple devices set up in the same configuration window.
