Hi there,

I was wondering whether anyone knows how to convert the raw data from scanner (.dcm files) to raw diffusion tensors (i.e., without fitting any model to it, just the raw 3x3 matrices)?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Vicky,
I am not sure if I understand your question correctly, are you asking if you can use the raw dicom to fit diffusion tensors without a model? Unfortunately you will always have to fit a model to get the tensors, there is no shortcut there. The gradient directions that were applied by the scanner are needed to help you convert the raw dicom (which are just a bunch of scalar images) to a three dimensional image with tensors.

All my best,
~Do
