Dear Paul,
The software package that was downloaded from Nouvant is the actual
egg file. Please see the attached screenshot of my Nouvant download
page. For me the "PDFgetX3 - Software Package for Python 2.7"
downloads as "diffpy.pdfgetx-1.1-py2.7.egg".
Although the egg package is a valid zip file, it should not be
expanded. Just use it as is with the easy_install command as
described in the manual.
Hope this works, let me know if there are some other problems
with the installation.
