IUCr 2026: Exciting sessions and workshops

Dear Diffpy users,

I wanted to make you aware of several relevant scientific sessions and workshops at the upcoming IUCr 2026 Congress to be held in Calgaray, Canada August 11-18, 2026. Abstracts are due February 15, and early-bird registration closes on March 31. I list below a few sessions and workshops that I think will be of particular interest to this community, but there are many, many more that could be a good fit for you. • MS035 New developments in in-situ and in-operando experimentation: Pushing the boundaries of diffraction experiments
• MS039 Sustainable materials for the future: synthesis, characterization, and applications
• MS057 Compositionally complex materials: challenges and opportunities for X-ray absorption, pair distribution function, and related probes (I'm chairing this one--please submit an abstract if you are working in this area!)
• MS073 Diffuse scattering and dynamics in complex systems and disordered materials
• MS074 In-situ studies of materials synthesis and crystal growth
• MS089 Diffuse scattering and 3D-PDF: unveiling hidden order in single crystals
• MS093 PDF (total scattering) experiments and local structure characterization of functional materials
• MS096 Structural characterization of amorphous solids, glasses and liquids (disordered materials)
• MS106 The use of three-dimensional pair-distribution functions to understand complex structures
