PDFgetX2 download

Hi,

I am trying to download PDFgetX2, but I am having a few problems. First, when I download it an error message comes up saying that the .bat file cannot be downloaded. Finally, I downloaded the program as an administrator and that allowed the .bat file to download, but once the program is downloaded I cannot run the program. My computer tries to open it as an app. I believe I am having these problems because I have a Windows 8 operating system. Could you please give me a detailed solution to this problem?

I am not familiar with Windows 8, but PDFgetX2 requires that you
install the IDL virtual machine first. The IDL VM should be available
for free somewhere at http://www.exelisvis.com/.

That said, PDFgetX2 is not maintained anymore and unless you truly
need some specific features in X2 I would recommend to use the newer
version PDFgetX3. For download and installation instructions for
