Hi Simon and all,

Thanks for accepting my request.

I, Raj Kumar Ramamoorthy, am working as a post-doctoral fellow at INSA Toulouse, France. I am very new to PDF analysis as well as to the PDFgetx3 software.

Currently, I have been extracting the PDF signals of gold nanoparticles using PDFgetx3. During the extraction, step 3 (pdfgetter: TransformXrayASFnormChris) caught my attention. In this step (as attached in Figures), I see an additional parameter called scale which I believe is different from the bkgscale function.

I would like to know the origin (and the purpose) of the scale parameter in step 3.
I guess it is generated for self-absorption and/or polarization contribution(s). If yes, would you please tell me how it is determined for a given system?

Many thanks
Raj

Hi all,

Have you had some time to look into my previous email dated 18th Jan?

Thanks
Raj
