Hi Daniel,
I have used PDFgetX2 on a Vista box and I don't recall any problems
during installation. Please, make sure that IDL virtual machine (IDL
VM) is installed before installing PDFgetX2. You can download IDL VM
from www.ittvis.com/idl
If that does not help, try to run the PDFgetX2 installer as
an administrator.
Hope this helps,
Pavol

Hi Daniel,
I see - I just tried to reinstall PDFgetX2 and found the same problem.
Apparently, the installer program is not compatible with Vista, I don't
know how to fix that, since I did not prepare the PDFgetX2 package.
A work around is to download the pdfgetx2-1.0-050315.zip file
instead and extract the files from its distribution folder to
a PDFgetX2 directory. Create a desktop shortcut to the pdfgetx2.bat
file and optionally set its icon to pdfgetx2.ico. If the shortcut does
not work right away, you may need to tell Windows that ".sav" files
should be run by "c:\Program Files\ITT\IDL71\bin\bin.x86\idlrt.exe".
