The Great Perfection Is Not Perfect
For much of our lives, we search for solid ground—a place to firmly plant our feet, something permanent, something we can count on. We want certainty. Continuity. A story that tells us who we are.
Yet when we look closely, nothing is truly solid. Everything changes. Everything moves.
We live inside stories created by thought, often without realizing it. We take the story to be reality. We take it to be who we are.
Over time, some of us begin to see that the story is just a story.
Then something else is noticed.
There is far more here than the story.
So we begin to seek. We search for truth. We read books, explore teachings, debate ideas, and try to solve the mystery.
But perhaps the truth is not found in solving the mystery.
Perhaps the truth is realizing that we are not separate from it.
We are this whole movement—appearing and disappearing, changing, morphing, shape-shifting from moment to moment.
At first, that can feel unsettling. We want something to hold onto. Something certain.
Yet eventually there may come a quiet recognition that this uncertainty is not a mistake. It is the nature of life itself.
Perhaps the great perfection is not perfect.
Perhaps it includes the doubt, the confusion, the grief, the fear, the uncertainty, and the resistance as well as the joy, clarity, love, and peace.
Not because everything is glorious.
Not because everything goes our way.
Not because we finally solve the mystery.
But because everything belongs.
The joy.
The sorrow.
The clarity.
The confusion.
The love.
The fear.
The gain.
The loss.
All of it.
THIS is LIFE.

Doesn’t seem to matter what we think. 🤔
