Andy,

Hey, I put that up mostly for fun. I felt the song was mostly pointing to our roots in the soil. After all, we are the earth-walking, talking. We all have roots. All my ancestors come from the Azores. So I have deep Portuguese roots. That's my heritage for sure, and I do identify as Portuguese. I think the difference is I'm not attached to it, so if the Portuguese people are insulted, it really doesn't have an effect. I think there's a genetic factor there too. The Portuguese people think of themselves as the people of the sea. I sailed the seas in a sailing cutter for about 20 years. No matter how bad it got out there, I never felt threatened, and I always felt at home at sea or in the boat.

Come and visit us sometime. We’ll take a walk in the woods.

I loved the music and related the roots to the planting. Yet It brought me back to Brooklyn Ny as a young boy. I developed strong roots there or I would have fell to the ground a long time ago
