Hey Zoomsters,

Well, it's almost one a.m. Thursday morning.  And here I am in Lynchburg, Virginia sitting at my computer.  My house is very quiet, like some old beast settling down for the night.  Even the refrigerator motor is at rest.  Outside the street in my friendly little neighborhood has no traffic, no families out for a walk.  The night sky is pitch black. Lampposts cast cones of white light onto the asphalt.  The crickets and tree frogs are "singing" for all they're worth.  For the last two or three days I've been trying to figure out what we could investigate this week in our zoom meeting.  There are many possibilities of course, but what's essential?  Rob L sent me a video of Watts (I think), but when I went to watch it and then post it to you, I couldn't find it in my email list.  It disappeared apparently, or my search skills are not so great.  So Rob, would you send it to me again, and we can use it in the next week or two.  And my apologies for my technological incompetence.  So what will we discuss?  There are the standard (and important) topics: no-self; interbeing; identification; awareness; the passion for truth; consciousness; emptiness; the cessation of thought; meditation; awakening; enlightenment, and on they go.  We have gone into all of these and much more, and I suspect we will return to them many more times.  But what will we talk about tonight?  There is a very simple question that has haunted me ever since the first time I took it seriously.  And it is this: What do I (you) want?  Can we, for just this once, get past the knee-jerk non-dualist response which is to ask, "Who is it that wants?"  Okay, that's a good pointer, but it can prevent a down to earth honest answer.  It can become very difficult to be actually honest with ourselves, let alone with others because we are so desperate to conform to what is expected.  Can we respond like a child who isn't concerned about the problems of self or identity?  We so often talk about letting go: well can we let go of all of that non-duality baggage for a few moments?  I'm not sure this will lead us into insightful dialogue, but let's start there.  We can always move on if we need to.  What do you want?
