Hi there, I'd really appreciate some help with this issue that I have never encountered. I took some premiere editing projects from the Macs at my office to use in my reel, which I want to edit on my PC at home. I have the newest version of Premiere, and so do they. However, when I try to open the timelines that I threw on a drive from the macs, on my PC the message "The project was saved in a newer version of Adobe Premiere Pro and cannot be opened in this version." comes up with all of the timelines. But I have the newest version, so that's not possible. Can anybody tell me what to do? Thanks!
Not reeeeeally. At least - it's much less than the current accepted answer on this thread. If you export something as an xml file on premiere you will effectively lose most of the editing you've done. Aside from maybe the most basic sequences. All the colour correction, Sound work, etc is gone. With this method - yes some of that will disappear if you are working on an old enough version of premiere. But, I'm talking like five years old. If the difference is CC2017 and CC2016. Sure you'll lose any effects that only exist in CC2017. But I would bet this is mostly niche stuff and 99.999% of your project will probably be fine! But - even if it isn't - say you make some small changes to your downgraded version on CC2016. If you copy the downgraded version to a computer with CC2017, after the changes have been made. All the newer features will still be there. So as long as you render on the computer with CC2017 nothing will be lost.
In the finder window where you have your premiere projects, click on the folder icon at the top and drag it into
the terminal window. Release once the plus sign appears on the folder.

As background, launchctl unload -w disables each service in the override database. launchd will follow the override database entry even if the job definition (e.g. /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.AdobeCreativeCloud.plist) is marked as enabled. The override database is on a per user basis. LaunchDaemon jobs are run as root so we use sudo to disable them for the root user.
